Effective July 19, 2026 · Applies to the Fire Alarm Android and iOS apps
Fire Alarm is a clock and alarm app. You set alarms, customize how the clock looks, and the app rings them at the right time — all of that happens locally on your phone. This policy explains what data the app touches and, just as importantly, what it doesn't.
None. Fire Alarm does not have a server, does not create an account for you, and does not transmit any data off your device. There is no analytics library, no advertising SDK, and no crash-reporting service built into the app.
The app saves your alarms and preferences locally on your phone. This data is private to the app, is never transmitted anywhere, and is permanently deleted the moment you uninstall or delete Fire Alarm.
| Stored locally | Used for |
|---|---|
| Alarm times, labels, repeat days, chosen sound | Ringing your alarms at the right time |
| Clock color, font, background, brightness | Remembering your display preferences |
| Toggle settings (24-hour format, snooze length, etc.) | Remembering your app preferences |
Exact permission names differ by platform; what each one does is the same.
| Permission | Why Fire Alarm asks for it |
|---|---|
Alarms & notificationsSCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM (Android) / Notifications (iOS) | So your alarm rings at the exact minute you set, and can show Stop/Snooze actions even when the app isn't open. |
Run at startup / background audioRECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED (Android) / Background audio (iOS) | Re-arms your alarms after your phone restarts (Android), or keeps the app running so an armed alarm rings continuously rather than a single brief notification sound (iOS). No audio is ever recorded — on iOS, a quiet tone plays only to keep the app active until an alarm is due. |
VibrationVIBRATE (Android) / Haptics (iOS) | Lets an alarm vibrate your phone when it rings. |
| Camera (flash only) | Powers the in-app flashlight button. The app never opens the camera, takes a photo, or records video — it only toggles the flash unit on or off. |
| Motion sensor / Motion & fitness | Detects when you shake your phone to trigger the white flashlight-screen mode. Motion data is read in the moment and immediately discarded — it's never saved or sent anywhere. |
Fire Alarm does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that uses data differently — this page will be updated and the "effective" date above will change accordingly.
